Brief
Crown House was purchased as a poorly performing office block on the edge of Sheffield City Centre with the aim of converting and adapting the building to create class-leading student accommodation for a strong local market. 74 worked closely with LSSH and their funding partners Springcreek in Philadelphia to develop a strong concept for the interior design of the whole building. We developed a comprehensive and coherent design strategy from the front door, through the amenity spaces, down the corridors and into the bedrooms.
Concept
A high-end student environment that pushes the boundaries of the norm in student accommodation, via luxurious bedrooms of the highest quality and a series of stunning communal spaces. The ground floor amenity spaces have a very sophisticated feel and offer the opportunity to study within an environment that feels like a mix between a co-working environment and a boutique hotel lobby. The social amenity spaces have a state-of-the-art gym with on-demand fitness area, cinema, gaming and games areas all with top end, integrated AV.
